An Ephrata woman was arrested for reportedly stealing a minivan that belonged to her friend's father.
According to police, the victim told officials that his Dodge minivan was stolen sometime in the overnight hours between Thursday and Friday.
He named 20-year-old Amanda Becker as the suspect; Becker was an overnight guest of his daughter's.
On Friday afternoon, Becker appeared in court for a preliminary hearing on an unrelated charge. Police said Becker was unable to post bail, and while she was being taken into custody by Ephrata Police, she kicked an officer. She now faces assault charges.
Authorities interviewed Becker regarding the vehicle theft. She admitted to the theft and provided police with the location of the stolen vehicle. Becker was then charged with theft of the vehicle.
She is currently incarcerated in Lancaster County Prison on multiple charges.
