Police are warning of a rash of battery thefts from camping trailers and motor homes in York County.
Northern York County Regional police said they have received nearly a dozen reports of stolen batteries in Paradise and Jackson townships since early March.
Police said the thieves are cutting the battery cables and removing the 12-volt, deep cycle marine and RV batteries.
The campers have either been parked at storage facilities or at the homes of the owners.
The batteries are valued between $100 to 200 each, while the scrap value is between $10 and $20 each, police said.
