HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The Harrisburg School District is considering an offer from a Lebanon company to buy the former Shimmell Elementary School in the city's Allison Hill section.

Monday night, Pennsylvania Counseling Services submitted a proposal to buy the vacant school for $550,000 plus $43,000 in tax revenue. The company would turn the school into a substance abuse and mental health treatment facility.

The company is hoping for school board approval by April 21.
