HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Fundraising by the candidates for Pennsylvania governor during the first three months of the year nudged the overall total toward the $40 million mark.

Campaign finance reports filed Tuesday show the four Democrats and two Republicans raised $5.3 million in addition to $34 million they collected last year.

Democratic front-runner Tom Wolf revealed he spent nearly $4.5 million on TV ads between January and March. Wolf, a businessman who gave and borrowed $10 million for his campaign, had the most cash on hand - $7 million.

U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz raised the most between January and March - $1.6 million - and had $5.2 million on hand.

Gov. Tom Corbett, who faces token opposition in the GOP primary, raised $1.4 million and had nearly $6 million in cash.
