Kevin Buck of Shrewsbury proudly admits that he bears a label that might sound strange to some; He is a grave hunter.
"What I do is I research those actors, actresses, historical figures that mean something to me, are part of me. And then I search out their final resting place and perform a personal tribute," Buck said on Good Day PA on abc27.
Buck takes photos of the grave sites and has compiled those images in "Looking for Miss Crabtree: And Other Confessions of a Gravehunter."
"One of my early tributes was for June Marlowe who played Miss Crabtree in 'The Little Rascals, Our Gang series.' My initial information for her was faulty so I went to try to perform a tribute and she wasn't there," Buck said. "When I later found the information, where she had been moved to, I turned to my friend and said, 'looking for Miss Crabtree again.'"
Buck had the most trouble getting close to Humphrey Bogart's and Michael Jackson's sites due to tight security. Besides Marlowe, June Carpenter's site meant the most to him.
"It's just so sad that such a beautiful and talented person was just beyond being helped."
"Looking for Miss Crabtree: And Other Confessions of a Gravehunter" is available on Amazon, BarnesandNoble.com and at a few local bookstores.
