Stampede to Celebrate Literacy and Dauphin County Library System's 100th Birthday
HARRISBURG, PA (April 8, 2014) – The Herd will look to rebound after a difficult road loss against the Nashville Venom last Saturday in Nashville, TN. On Friday, April 11, 2014 at 7pm, the Stampede will battle the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks in what will become a new PIFL in-state rivalry.
In keeping with the Herd's commitment to community, the team will feature several in-game promotions and activities in recognition of healthy living and literacy. Pregame festivities will include a Book Drive to benefit the Dauphin County Library System during the Give a Book, Get A Book Swap. All children attending the game may receive a book courtesy of Dauphin County Library System, Capital Blue Cross, and the American Literacy Corporation in addition to a DCLS birthday "goodie bag". The celebration will continue with a surprise presentation later in the evening.
PinnacleHealth will present the halftime entertainment featuring over 200 children performing a choreographed routine along with the Stampede Crush Dance Team. "Our partnership focuses on working with the children in our communities to show fun ways to stay fit and get active. What better way to demonstrate heart-healthy activities than dancing?" says Marques Colston, Stampede President and GM.
The game will wrap up with a postgame autograph session in the concourse, featuring select Stampede players and Crush Dance Team members.
