Police: 2 forged checks linked to Perry County Prison

NEWPORT, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police in Newport are looking for two men who created fraudulent checks with checking accounts linked to the Perry County Prison.

The pair was able to cash eight checks totaling more than $1,550 at two Walmart stores, police said in a news release Thursday.

The suspects are a 36-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from Berks County, who are believed to be in the company of an unknown woman, police said. Their names were not released.
