LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Lancaster man caught shoplifting at Park City Center pulled a knife Friday afternoon and stabbed a loss prevention officer on the hand, city police said.

Noel H. Israel-Negron, 35, then held the knife to the officer's throat and threatened to harm him again, police said.

He was arrested in the mall a short time later.

Police said the Boscov's loss prevention officer had detained Israel-Negron and 40-year-old Kriste L. McManus of Marietta for thefts from several retailers in the mall.

After he assaulted the officer in an office, Israel-Negron told McManus to collect the stolen merchandise that had been confiscated. McManus put the items in her purse, and both fled the office, police said.

McManus was caught a short time later, and Israel-Negron was taken into custody in a common area of the mall outside JC Penney without further incident, police said.

The security officer was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police said he had lacerations on at least two fingers of his right hand.

No other injuries to anyone else were reported.

Israel-Negron was charged with retail theft, robbery, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and criminal conspiracy.
