Work on Duncannon bridge to begin Monday

Posted: Updated:
DUNCANNON, Pa. (WHTM) -

Preparatory work is scheduled to begin Monday on a project to rehabilitate the Market Street bridge over the Little Juniata Creek in Duncannon.

Drivers should expect single-lane traffic restrictions with flaggers assisting them through the work zone on weekdays for the next few months, according to a PennDOT news release.

In June, once the initial work is complete, construction crews will close the bridge for up to 90 days to replace the superstructure.

A detour which follows Route 11/15, Route 22/322 and Route 849 will be in place, the news release stated.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.

The existing bridge was built in 1932 and is considered structurally deficient.
