HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Penn State football fans will see a new coach on the sidelines this season, and you have a chance to meet him before football kicks off!

James Franklin took over the reins of the team back in January, and many current and former players have high expectations.

Franklin has been making his way around the state introducing himself to fans at many events. He'll be in Harrisburg this Thursday (April 17) for The Hill Society's State of the Program, along with Athletic Director Dr. David Joyner.

"We're basically going to be in a position to hear everything he's doing with recruiting, and where he sees the program going, and what a great opportunity to get a chance to hear it first hand," explained Eric Morrison, cofounder of The Hill Society.

The State of the Program is this Thursday night at the Hilton Harrisburg.

Tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children under 18. They can be purchased at the door, based on availability.

abc27's Mark Hall will serve as emcee for the event.
