CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are saying a misunderstanding led to a CERT team being called in for a reported "hostage situation" in North Middleton Township, Cumberland County.

Authorities responded to the scene of a reported barricade situation in the area of Cumberland & Douglas drives on Monday afternoon.

According to police, a mother-in-law called police because she thought two children were involved in a hostage situation.

Officials said in reality, a husband and wife were going through a divorce, and the husband came over to the home to see who was watching the children.

Police said he came out peacefully. No charges will be filed.
