Lynchburg - Rain did a number on area baseball action scheduled for Tuesday night.  The series opener between the Hillcats and Wilmington at Calvin Falwell Field was postponed.

The 'Cats and Blue Rocks will play a doubleheader Wednesday night beginning at 5:05.  Monday night's 12-inning win at Frederick completed a 5-and-2 road trip, Lynchburg tied for the best record in the Carolina League at 7-and-4.

Edison Sanchez, HILLCATS FIRST BASEMAN (HITTING .341), said "I'm just trying to put the ball in play.  I mean that's my job here just to get rbi's and to help the team whatever I do.  And when I'm hitting, when I'm not hitting, I'm just trying to play good defense and I think that's all I'm trying to do is play hard."

Lucas Sims, 1-1, 4.20 ERA IN FIRST 3 STARTS, said "We've got a good hitting offensive ballclub and we've got a pitching staff's that's always going to keep us in it.  So you know right now we've got a good recipe for success.  We've just got to keep playing consistently."
