Runners from the Midstate have been gearing up to run the Boston Marathon.
Lower Paxton Township's Lori Brulo plans on running her third Boston Marathon. Last year, she ran with her husband and heard the explosions. She and her husband were unharmed and vowed to run the race in 2014.
"I wanted to support Boston and all the people up there," Brulo said.
She has been training with others, including Michelle Cross from Millersburg. This will be Cross' first time running Boston.
"I just think it shows what runners are made of. I mean, we can face adversity and just keep going and try to make it better and show the world, give us what you got and we'll give you what we got," Cross said.
Both Brulo and Cross will leave for Boston on Friday.
The 118th Boston Marathon is Monday.
