A former Harrisburg man has been arrested in a 33-year-old murder case.
The U.S. Marshal's Service said it arrested 78-year-old Joseph Lewis Miller in Mineola, Texas on Monday.
Miller was wanted for the Jan. 1981 fatal shooting of Thomas Waller in a parking lot in the area of 14th and Regina streets.
U.S. Marshal Martin Pane said Miller using the alias of Roy Eubanks, was married and a deacon in his local church, and had been receiving Social Security disability benefits for more than two decades.
He has admitted his true identity, Pane said.
Miller was previously convicted in a separate murder case in 1959. He pleaded guilty to the fatal shooting of John Lumpkins and was sentenced to life in prison, but in 1971 Governor Raymond Shafer commuted his sentence to 11 years and he was released from state custody and placed on lifetime state parole.
He will be held in Wood County, Texas until his extradition to Pennsylvania.
