NOTTINGHAM, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Chester County man died in a head-on crash Monday morning on Route 272 in southern Lancaster County.

State police said 37-year-old Matthew H. Keebler, of Oxford, was traveling southbound and drifted into the northbound lane before his 1988 Honda Civic collided with an oncoming truck in Little Britain Township.

Keebler died from his injuries as he was being placed into a medical helicopter, police said.

The crash occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of W. Christine Road.

The truck driver, 52-year-old Robert Vandyke, of Brogue, swerved to avoid to crash, but was unable to move far enough to the right due to a dirt embankment, police said. He sustained minor injuries and was released from EMS at the scene.

Police said Keebler was not wearing a seatbelt, and illegal drugs and paraphernalia were found on him and in his vehicle.
