LANDISVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Hempfield High School student was treated for minor injuries at a hospital after he was struck by a car this morning.

East Hempfield Township police said the 17-year-old student was struck near the intersection of Kauffman Road and Mumma Drive at around 7 :30 a.m.

The student was immediately taken to the school nurse, then transported to Lancaster General Hospital and released after treatment, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, 55-year-old Jodi Beck of Landisville, indicated she did not see the student crossing the roadway due to glare caused by the sun, police said.

Police said the student was crossing within a crosswalk.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to call East Hempfield Township police at 717-898-3103.
