Tuscaloosa documents city's post-tornado progress in three videos

Posted: Updated:
TUSCALOOSA - AL - Tuscaloosa city leaders pre-empted the 'Mercy Me' concert at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater to highlight post tornado progress.  Prior to the start of the concert, three inspirational, 60-second videos were shared, showcasing how the city has stayed true to its motto of rebuilding:  Safer, Stronger & Smarter.

Each video is very detailed and shows significant progress since the city took a catastrophic blow from the April 27,  2011 tornado outbreak. People are seen writing ideas on a blackboard several months ago, and those same ideas went from chalk to reality, which you see in the mini-documentaries. The trio of videos include scenes from 15 recovery projects that were made possible through $40 million in post-tornado grants and insurance proceeds.

By the time Tuscaloosa completes its extensive plan to rebuild the city, an estimated $150 million will have been spent on 48 projects.
