CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Capital Area Transit begins a new expanded bus service in Carlisle on Monday.

CAT officials outlined the thee routes of its new Carlisle Circulator on Friday.

The bus service is filling a void since Carlisle had no public transit system of its own and its only taxi service recently closed.

Bus stops will include Carlisle Regional Medical Center, major retail stores and Dickinson College.

Dickinson students will ride for free.

Single trip fares start at $1.75 for adults, $1.25 for kids. Monthly passes cost $49.

CAT hopes to attract up to 40,000 riders in its first year.
