PennDOT: Reconstruction of Brandt Avenue in Lemoyne postponed

LEMOYNE, Pa. (WHTM) -

PennDOT is postponing work to reconstruct a section of Brandt Avenue in Lemoyne until May 5 because of forecasted heavy rains.

The four day reconstruction of Brandt Avenue between Lowther Street and the closed ramp to Interstate 83 North was scheduled to start Tuesday but will now begin May 5 and continue until May 8.

During the four day reconstruction, PennDOT says the area will have a single-lane restriction with flaggers assisting drivers through the work zone. Construction is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To avoid delays, PennDOT says drivers should allow for additional time or find an alternate route.

The reconstruction project is part of an overall $22.1 million contract that includes several safety and congestion mitigation improvements to the I-83 interchange with Route 581 and adjacent ramps.
