York Police arrest two juveniles on gun charges

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

The York City Police Department arrested two juveniles on firearms charges after responding to a fight Thursday evening.

Officials were called to the first block of W. South St. in York City for a report of an active fight involving a large group.

When police arrived one subject attempted to flee the area on foot. Police apprehended the juvenile male in the 400 block of Lindbergh and charged him with Possession of Firearm Prohibited, Firearms not to be Carried without a License, Possession of Firearm by a Minor, Disorderly Conduct, and Flight to Avoid Apprehension.

Police say they arrested a second juvenile male in the area of the fight. He was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Firearms Required to be Licensed, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

Both juveniles were subsequently committed to Juvenile Detention.
