HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A member of a group responsible for more than 100 "smash and grab" thefts at central Pennsylvania parks during the late summer and early fall of 2012 will spend more than five years in a federal prison.

Sylvester Joseph, 26, of Derrfield, Florida, was sentenced Monday to 63 months behind bars.

Joseph is the tenth and final member of the so-called “Felony Lane Gang” to be sentenced for his role in a car break-in and bank fraud scheme that stole over a million dollars in the five years it was in operation, according to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith.

The Florida-based group broke into unattended cars to steal checkbooks and wallets and then posed as the victims to make cash withdrawals at banks across the country.

When the group struck central Pennsylvania between August and October 2012, authorities said they carried out their "smash and grabs" at approximately 25 parks in central Pennsylvania and stole the identities of more than 100 people.
