Construction work began today to repair the bridge that carries Route 419 over the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks in Millcreek Township in eastern Lebanon County.
The bridge, located just northeast of Newmanstown, has been restricted to just one lane. A temporary traffic signal has been installed to control the direction of traffic.
The nearly $2.1 million project includes three bridges. In addition to the Route 419 bridge, repairs will be made to two bridges over Route 222 in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County: the Route 897 bridge and the Old Staver Road bridge.
The work is scheduled to wrap up in early August.
