HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The state House of Representatives has unanimously approved legislation to name a Cumberland County roadway in honor of a Newville soldier who was killed in the line of duty while serving in Iraq.

House Bill 1933, authored by Rep. Stephen Bloom (R-Cumberland), would designate Route 233 from Newville to the Perry County line as the Army Sgt. Timothy L. Hayslett Memorial Highway.

Hayslett was 26 years old when he died in November 2003 from an improvised explosive device that struck his Humvee while on patrol in Baghdad.

The bill now moves to the state Senate for consideration.
