Tupelo tornado: Security video shows twister whipping through church playground

New video has surfaced on YouTube showing a tornado whipping through a church playground in Tupelo, Miss. during a round a severe storms that swept through the South in April.

The video, which was taken from a security camera mounted outside at St. Luke United Methodist Church, begins with a glimpse of the pre-school playground shortly before the storm. The footage picks up quickly as daylight turns to darkness and debris begins to fly at high rates of speed as a violent twister barrels through the area.

Near the end of the clip, daylight returns, revealing the destructive aftermath of the tornado. Thankfully, there were no reports of injuries at the church.
