Danville, VA - A store in downtown Danville will stay open, thanks to the Industrial Development Authority.
The Attic Hound announced earlier this year that they would be closing their doors. But they've since received a $25,000 loan from the IDA. They say this will allow them to stay open for at least five more years. The Attic Hound said they were suffering because of the bad winter and a lot of construction in the River District.
"We had worked so hard to get to where we are and then the thought of having to once you get to where you need to or want to move to the next level but the thought of having to give it all up is heartbreaking," said Joan Daniel, owner of The Attic Hound.
The terms of the loan say that if The Attic Hound can maintain half of their payments, the other half will be forgiven. If not, they will have to pay back the full amount.
