CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A homeless man has been jailed for the robbery of a Carlisle convenience store.

Richard Conrad, 57, is accused of robbing the Super 7 Mart at 330 N. Hanover Street on Saturday evening.

Police said a store employee recognized Conrad as a frequent customer. He bought a pack of USA Gold cigarettes as usual, but then demanded the cashier give him money and claimed he had a gun.

The cashier opened the drawer and Conrad grabbed the $10 bills before fleeing, police said. He was later arrested and charged with robbery, theft, and simple assault.

His bail at Cumberland County Prison was set at $35,000.
