Charges are pending against two Waynesboro women in two separate incidents Sunday where police say they endangered their children.
Police said they responded to a report of an intoxicated woman walking with a baby and found one of the mothers carrying a 9-week-old infant in the 100 block of S. Potomac Street around 3:30 a.m.
In the second case, officers found a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old crying outside a home in the first block of E. Seventh Street just before midnight.
Police said the mother came home while they were on the scene, and they learned she had left the children home alone while she was drinking alcohol at a bar.
The children in both cases were placed in the care of a guardian.
Police did not identify either woman.
