Harrisburg City Council has a new member. Jeffrey Baltimore was selected Monday night to replace the late Eugenia Smith.
Baltimore was among four finalists along with Michelle Blade, Alex Reber and Kelly Summerford. Baltimore and Reber each had the support of three council members and it was up to Mayor Eric Papenfuse to cast the deciding vote.
"I came here with an idea to serve and that's what I'm here for," Baltimore said. "I'm pretty excited. The process was an education in and of itself."
Council President Wanda Williams said she supported Baltimore because he had experience in economic development and had worked for the city for a number of years.
