Bedford Co., VA - A local company is going international, to help stop the spread of the deadly MERS virus.
NanoTouch Materials, whose research facility is in New London, is sending 3,500 touch points to Saudi Arabia, where the virus was first discovered.
The peel and stick skins will cover door handles, tray tables and countertops in a hospital.
They are self-cleaning and research shows they can completely kill the human Coronavirus in less than 30 minutes.
"The King Abdul-Aziz medical center did their own testing because they were wondering how this worked. The technology's so new,” said Dennis Hackemeyer with NanoTouch. “They did their own testing and now the doctor over there refers to NanoSeptic surfaces as magic paper."
This is the first of several shipments bought by Saudi Arabia.
They'll eventually be printed in Arabic and English.
