HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

One person died after a trash truck overturned and crashed into a passenger car Monday afternoon on South Cameron Street in Harrisburg.

The truck was headed south when it struck the railroad bridge in the 500 block of S. Cameron, near the intersection of Berryhill Street, then rolled onto its side before crashing into the northbound car around 12:50 p.m.

Investigators said the truck carries dumpsters and the boom was up when it hit the bridge.

The driver of the car died at a hospital. Police did not immediately release the person's name.

The truck driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.  Police will take a look to determine if speed was a factor.  The truck driver could face charges.

Cameron Street was closed in both directions between State and Paxton streets into the evening commute.  Traffic resumed in both directions by 6 p.m.
