Voters gear up for primary election

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - The polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning for the Pennsylvania’s primary election.

Republican pollster Jim Lee of Susquehanna Polling and Research told abc27 he anticipates voter turnout between 35 and 45 percent.

Monday night, abc27 found voters who never miss an election.

“Can’t complain if you are not part of the process,” Phyllis Kull from Pine Grove said.

We also ran into some who said the primary snuck up on them and they simply aren’t ready.

“Unfortunately, I will not be voting because I am not up on any issues or candidates,” Matt Blazi from Palmyra said.

Among the key races that will be decided Tuesday is the Democratic candidate for governor.  Tom Wolf, Allyson Schwartz, Katie McGinty and Rob McCord are all trying to challenge Republican incumbent Governor Tom Corbett in November.

The polls will remain open until 8 p.m.
