HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating an incident at Sunken Gardens at Riverfront Park in Harrisburg.

Just before noon Tuesday police got a call for shots fired. When they arrived at the scene they found a homeless man had been shot with a bb gun in the face and chest.

"The male was on a bike and he rode by the victim several times and then just without warning, without saying anything, he just shot him with the bb gun. He rode off. We did a rather extensive search for him but we have not been able to locate him yet," said Captain Colin Cleary, Harrisburg Police Department.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a black shirt and riding a gray BMX style bike.

"We do not want things like that in Riverfront Park. We want to make sure it is safe and secure for everyone," said Capt. Cleary.

Police say the victim is ok. The suspect could be facing simple assault and recklessly endangering charges.
