Mayor Eric Papenfuse called City Hall a dreary place to work and vowed soon after he was sworn in to make some improvements.

The mayor launched the City Hall Beautiful Fund to raise funds to help make repairs inside the complex.

The building had a leaky roof and several other pressing issues that needed attention.

The family of the late Governor, George Leader, donated $7,000 to help renovate the break room and roll call room in the police department.

Touch of Color Flooring installed new carpeting in the walkway to the public safety building and on the second floor hallway.

Rani Rammouni is the manager of the Harrisburg based company.  He says it was an opportunity to give back to a city that has helped him live the American dream. "We love the city and will do a lot for the city," said Rammouni, "We will provide more flooring for the city government center."

Penn National Insurance donated $5,000 for repairs to a flag post in front of City Hall.

Mayor Papenfuse says there it will take a few years to get all the repairs completed.
