The first Pennsylvania senator to win a seat as a write-in candidate has come out at the front of his second election in three months.
Scott Wagner defeated Zachary Hearn in the Republican primary for the 28th Senate district in York County.
Wagner received 85 percent of the vote, according to an unofficial count.
Wagner, a prominent York County businessman who owns Penn Waste and a trucking firm, won a special election in March against state Rep. Ron Miller and Democrat Linda Small, who he'll face again in November.
The special election in March came after former senator Mike Waugh resigned to become executive director of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.
