PALMYRA, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Jonestown man was arrested in Palmyra after police say he threatened to shoot several people.

Richard Engle Jr., 27, was charged Thursday with terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, Palmyra police said in a news release.

Officers had responded to a report that a man had threatened someone with a gun in the 500 block of South Railroad Street around 4:20 p.m. and when they arrived at the scene, witnesses reported that several people were armed, police said.

Police said they determined Engle had displayed a handgun multiple times and made statements that he was going to shoot several people. He was transported to Lebanon County Central Booking for arraignment.

One person was transported to a hospital for a possible broken finger and a second received treatment for a possible concussion, police said.

The investigation is continuing.

Police departments from South Londonderry, North Londonderry, Derry Annville and South Annville townships assisted in handling the incident.

Anyone with information may call Palmyra police at 717-838-8189.
