Police arrest Virginia Man for attempted rape of 12-year-old

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) - A Virginia man was arrested and is facing multiple counts of felony after police say he attempted to rape a 12-year-old girl from Lancaster County. 

According to Manheim Township police, the 12-year-old girl got into a vehicle Friday with 30-year-old Nelson Hercules of Virginia Beach.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Friday on the 400 block of Candlewyck Road. 

Police found the girl unharmed after locating Hercules' vehicle outside of a nearby hotel. 

Hercules told police he met the girl online and traveled to Lancaster to have sex with her. 

He faces multiple counts of felony including attempted rape of a child, indecent assault and kidnapping. 

He's now in Lancaster County Prison on $250,000 bail.
