HANOVER, Pa. (WHTM) - State police and the Hanover Borough Police Department are working to uncover a series of thefts and arsons that began overnight Saturday in the Borough of Hanover.

Police responded to a report of a vehicle fire on the 100 block of Moul Avenue Saturday just after 4:00 a.m. Shortly after, officers responded to reports of vehicles that were broken into on East Walnut Street, Blossom Drive, and Spencer Drive.

After further investigation, police discovered three additional fires from within vehicles parked in the area.

There is no word on the total costs of damages.

Police are reminding residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and to use exterior lighting during night hours to help prevent criminal activity. They are also asking residents to remove all valuables from their vehicles when not in use and to use exterior lighting during night hours to help deter criminal activity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hanover Borough Police Department at 637-5575 or state police at 428-1011.
