#HiddenCash craze comes to Carlisle this weekend

Posted: Updated:
CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

This weekend's Carlisle Ford Nationals will bring an added bonus for the community.

The "Hidden Cash" craze that began in California and has since gone viral across the nation will be introduced by Carlisle Events, which hosts Ford Nationals each year at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.

When the gates open at 7 a.m. Friday, the first "clue" will go out on Carlisle Events' Twitter page, @CarlisleEvents, and the Carlisle Ford Nationals Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/FordNationals.

The clues will lead to 40 cash-filled envelopes hidden throughout the fairgrounds and in downtown Carlisle. Amounts range from $10 to $150.

If you find an envelope, Carlisle Events asks that you take a "selfie" and post it to their social sites using the hashtag #HiddenCashCarlisle.

This year, the Ford Mustang turned 50 years old. The Carlisle Bakery will present a special 1964 Mustang replica cake during Friday's kickoff event.

Kids 12 and under get in for free. The event wraps up Sunday afternoon.
