A Northport man is in custody after a two-month-long investigation into synthetic marijuana distribution.

According to Tuscaloosa police, West Alabama Narcotics Task Force agents arrested 27-year-old Darius Jarab Wilson Wednesday afternoon at a home on Hillview Lane in Coker. Authorities confiscated multiple items used to manufacture the synthetic drug, including rat poison. Agents said Wilson was allegedly mixing the poison into other ingredients to make "spice."

Around $11,000 worth of synthetic weed packets were also recovered from the home.

Wilson is charged with one count of trafficking illegal drugs and one count of false reporting to law enforcement. He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on bonds totaling just over $1 million.
