Congressman Robert Hurt Tours Danville's National Guard Armory

Posted:
Danville, VA - For Congressman Robert Hurt, Thursday was all about saying thank you to those who are currently serving our country.

Hurt stopped by the National Guard Armory in Danville on Thursday afternoon and went on a tour of the building. He talked to the soldiers and learned about what it takes to run the armory; everything from making sure the trucks are in perfect condition to training new soldiers.

Hurt said they do an impressive amount of work and extended a big thank you.

"While we've been in conflict overseas for the last 10 or 15 years, the National Guard has played such an important role in supporting in the most active way our efforts and our mission over there," said Congressman Robert Hurt.

Hurt's next stop was the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department in Danville. He talked to veterans there about the recent VA scandal.
