Danville, VA - The scavenger hunt in Danville's River District Thursday certainly drew a crowd. In fact, hundreds of people visited downtown businesses, all vying for the $500 grand prize.
Many local stores say that event made a huge difference for them.
Commonwealth Silver and Goldsmiths say many people came in that didn't know about the store. While they said they didn't have too many people spending money, drawing people in helped.
"I'm anticipating a lot of visits from the people that came through that had never seen us before because now they know how unique we are, what product we offer, and how wonderful everything is," said Robert Bragg, Owner of Commonwealth Silver and Goldsmiths.
Many businesses say they hope to have this event again because of this year's success.
