Radford, VA - Garrett P Chapin, 24, reported to police that he had been robbed and assaulted by two men who entered his home and demanded drugs and money on Monday night. He was arrested himself on Tuesday.
According to police, Chapin said that he had been punched with brass knuckles and kicked by his attackers. As a result, he had several bruises, a black eye, as well as swelling around his eye. He was treated and released by New River Valley Medical Center.
Based on information provided by Chapin, one of the alleged attackers was identified as Colin Tyler Stafford Lynch, 19. Police said he was arrested and taken into custody without incident. He is being charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit Robbery, Malicious Wounding, Larceny of Medication, and Robbery
According to police, based on the nature of the crimes reported, they searched Chapin's home and found and located evidence of drug distribution. Chapin was arrested the following day. He is being charged Possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
The second suspect in the robbery was later identified as Ricky James Julien, 21. He was arrested at his home in Radford without incident. He faces the following charges: Breaking and Entering with the Intent to Commit Robbery, Malicious Wounding, Larceny of Medication, and Robbery.
During the arrest, police searched Julien's home and located items which are believed to be connected to the robbery.
