The 200-plus "smart" parking meters that were expected to be installed in York on Monday will have to wait.
According to organizers, the person in charge of implementation has been delayed in Boston so the project will not be introduced until at least Tuesday.
City officials say they will still use the day to experiment with the equipment.
The project is part of an effort to provide more convenient parking options in certain areas downtown.
Sections of George and Market Streets, along with certain blocks of West Philadelphia and Beaver Streets, will receive the meters. The machines will accept coins along with credit cards. Business owners are hopeful they'll see more people heading downtown to find out what the area has to offer.
The complete changeover should take about a week if the weather cooperates.
