Pa. House OKs body cameras for wildlife, waterways officers

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The state House of Representatives has passed legislation to include wildlife conservation officers and waterways conservation officers among those in law enforcement who can wear body cameras while on the job.

House Bill 2178 now goes to the Senate for consideration.

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Dan Moul (R-Adams/Franklin), said WCOs previously could use body cameras, but an update of the state’s Wiretap Act earlier this year failed to include them in the definition of a "law enforcement officer."
