A 74-year-old York County man has been found guilty on charges he tried to lure a teenaged boy into his vehicle.
Theodore Irving Skinner, of Conewago Township, was convicted following a non-jury trial Monday on a felony count of interfering with the custody of a child, a misdemeanor count of luring a child into a motor vehicle, and summary count of harassment, according to court records.
Sentencing is scheduled Oct. 20 following a sexual offender assessment under Pennsylvania's Megan's Law.
Police said Skinner tried to lure a 15-year-old boy into his vehicle Sept. 17 in the 3700 block of Davidsburg Road in Dover Township.
The teen told officers he was taking trash to a dumpster when Skinner asked him to go for a ride so they could "have some fun," and when the boy tried to walk away, Skinner gripped his shoulder to prevent him from leaving, according to police.
Skinner then grabbed the teen by the wrist and attempted to pull him towards his vehicle, but the boy was able to break free, police said.
