Wild, 20-mile police chase from Tuscaloosa to Jefferson County linked to larger probe

BROOKWOOD - AL - Brookwood police are releasing few details about a 20-mile, multiple-agency chase from Tuscaloosa to Jefferson County.

It began on Highway 216 near Brookwood High School and ended near Groundhog Road in Adger, just across the Jefferson County line, according to news release from Chief Jimmy Sellers.

Sellers tells ABC 33/40 that the chase is linked to a "bigger, widespread investigation." The name of the suspect arrested in the chase is being withheld, though, police said the driver is facing numerous felony and misdemeanor charges. Details regarding the events leading up to the pursuit haven't been released.
