Dottie Sandusky: AG lacked courage to tell truth

Posted: Updated:

The wife of Jerry Sandusky says she's disappointed by a review of the handling of her husband's child sexual abuse case.

In a statement, Dottie Sandusky said Attorney General Kathleen Kane "apparently lacked the political courage to tell the truth about the prosecution of Jerry in her report."

"The reason Jerry was not arrested sooner was because there was no legitimate evidence against him, and that was because he is innocent," Dottie Sandusky said. "Had authorities searched our home sooner they would have found exactly what they eventually did: nothing."

Sandusky is serving 30 to 60 years in prison for molesting 10 boys.

Kane released a report Monday that found the investigation into sexual abuse allegations against the former Penn State assistant football coach took too long because of crucial missteps and inexplicable delays by police and prosecutors.
