HOUSTON, TX, June 27, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- It is with deep sorrow that the Houston boudoir photographers at Warwick Boudoir report that pin-up model and photographer Bunny Yeager has died. Yeager was 85 years old.
Linnea Eleanor "Bunny" Yeager initially became famous for her work as a daring pin-up model, but she later became a photographer of pin-up models. Her legacy includes helping to popularize the scandalous (at the time) bikini bathing suit, influencing other big names in pin-up photography with her art and photography guides and jump-starting the career of a then-unknown Bettie Page.
Yeager was born on March 13, 1929, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. In the 1940s, she moved to Miami, Florida, where she was one of the most prolific models of the time. As her modeling career continued to bloom, Yeager began experimenting with taking photographs herself. She took a series of self portraits, but she also worked extensively with other models, including Bettie Page.
Models respected Yeager's take on pin-up photography because Yeager offered them the respect they craved but could not find in other photographers. Yeager went out of her way to make the women she photographed feel comfortable and sexy, whether they were professional models or everyday housewives. Her extensive photographic work and her guides on how to photograph women in the nude have helped boudoir photography to find its footing.
"Bunny Yeager was and is such an inspiration to so many of us who are in the field of boudoir photography," says Sheryl Warwick, Owner and Lead Photographer of Warwick Boudoir. "Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family as they mourn her loss."
