Halifax, NC - A pilot is dead Friday night after a single-engine plane crash near the Halifax-Northhampton Regional Airport.
The plane was upside down in a field about five miles southwest from the airport.
The FAA says the Virginia attorney - Albert Orgain, IV reported engine problems around 10 Friday morning.
He said he was going to divert to the Hanover Airport in Richmond - but the aircraft went down.
The FAA is sending investigators to learn what happened.
