A man shot in Steelton early Monday told police he was running from two masked gunmen who had just robbed him.
The victim, identified as Christopher Haigh, was treated at Harrisburg Hospital following the shooting shortly after midnight in the 300 block of North Front Street, Steelton police said in a news release.
Haigh told investigators he was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot of an auto parts store when the masked men came out of the dark and ordered him to the ground at gunpoint.
He said the men went through his pockets and took his cell phone and wallet, and one of them struck him on the forehead, according to police.
Haigh said he got up and started running across the street when he heard a gunshot and realized he had been hit.
Police said they also spoke to a witness who reported that a dark sedan "ran up" on the victim as he was standing by his car. The witness heard a single shot and saw the sedan flee south on North Front Street.
Authorities have announced no arrests or suspects.
